Devlog #7: So Many Updates! New Maps, Cars, Shaders & More!

Heya, Folks!

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of code, creativity, and coffee. I've been pushing harder than ever, and the result is an avalanche of new content and features that I'm incredibly excited to share with you all. This isn't just a small step; it's a giant leap forward for Backroad Outlaws.

Let's dive into the goodies!

What's New? Everything!

  • Brand New Playgrounds: I've built not one, but THREE completely new maps for you to explore. Each one offers a unique landscape and new challenges to master. Get ready to get lost in the wilderness!
  • Fresh Rides: What's an outlaw without their wheels? I've added a new fleet of customizable cars to your garage. Find your favorite and tune it to perfection.
  • A Visual Overhaul: The game is starting to look better than ever! I've implemented new shaders and visual effects that dramatically improve the atmosphere, from the way the sun filters through the trees to the grime and grit on your vehicle.
  • Smoother Than Ever: Under the hood, it's a whole new machine. I've completely revamped the UI menus and input handlers, making everything more responsive and intuitive. The feel of the drive has been fine-tuned to be more satisfying and precise.
  • ...And a Million Other Things! From sound tweaks and physics adjustments to backend optimizations, countless small changes have been made to make the experience richer and more polished.

A Personal Note

I am pouring my heart and soul into this project, with a single goal: to create a game that you will truly enjoy. Every line of code and every designed asset is made with you, the player, in mind.

Your feedback is my most valuable resource. I am thrilled to hear any and all thoughts you have. What do you like? What could be better? What do you want to see next? Please, share your voice!

Thank you for your incredible support and for being on this journey with me. The playable demo with all these new features is getting closer every day. Stay tuned!
